HID EDGE SOLO CONVERSION

This page contains information about connecting multiple HID Edge Solo readers into an online system.

Edge Solo is a great starter access control product. The integrated reader-controller device with a built-in web server makes it easy to install a small access control system without worrying about host computer and software. However, when more doors need to be added to the system, the administration of the expanded system may require too much time and effort. Fortunately there is an upgrade path that allows to convert Edge Solo to Edge Host by simply loading new firmware. The upgrade process takes only a few minutes. No changes to door or network wiring are required. Once the conversion is completed your Edge readers will be enhanced with the ability to work in a system.

SimpleID software will need to be installed on a PC that is connected to the same network as the readers. The software will detect all readers automatically and provide you with complete control over the entire system. Click here to read more abut the capabilities of SimpleID.
